Easter Week—Part 3
Selected scriptures
April 20, 2014

1. THE ADVERTISEMENT OF THE RESURRECTION.
“From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he
must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the
elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he
must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.” Matt. 16:21

2. THE ABSENCES FROM THE RESURRECTION.
“On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the
women took the spices they had prepared and went to the
     tomb.” Luke 24:1

3. THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE RESURRECTION.
“Don’t be alarmed,’ he said. ‘You are looking for Jesus the
Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See
the place where they laid him.’” Mark 16:6

4. THE APPEARANCES AFTER THE RESURRECTION.
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance:
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he
was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the
Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the
Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the
brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still
living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to
James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me
also, as to one abnormally born.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-7

5. THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE RESURRECTION.
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one
who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever
lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?’”
John 11:25-26
